How to get Magellan GPS Nav 5000 Support

By Rebecca Blain

Getting Magellan GPS Nav 5000 support is one of the many concerns and problems that you will face when you purchase one of these devices.

Unlike the Magellan Road Mate, the Nav 5000 has less support to help you, should you encounter problems with your device.

There are several places that you can get support for this unit, however. As the Nav 5000 is old, you may or may not be able to get support from Magellan.

If it turns out your Magellan provider can not support your device, you can browse the Internet in order to find answers from another provider.

Before you look for Magellan GPS Nav 5000 support, there are a few things that you should keep in mind.

First, the Magellan PC Kit sold in many stores most likely will not work with the device. This is due to the fact that the system is older than the kit. The Kit was designed for systems like the Magellan Road Mate, which has state of the art technology that is compatible with the kit. Please keep in mind that the kit is designed to let you use your computer as a gateway for your device.

If you still require support, there are a few things that you can check prior to your search. First, you need to make certain that the device has the functions that you are looking for. The device was designed specifically for Marine use, which means the road based maps and data will be less round than the Marine data. This is a cause for much confusion by users.

If you plan on going on road trips, you will need to update your device through your computer with new maps!
