The process of having a Magellan navigation system installed

By Rebecca Blain

The Process of having a Magellan Navigation system installed in your car, SUV or truck is rather simple.

Regardless of whether it is a Magellan Road Mate, or a different Magellan GPS system, you will need to have mounting brackets for your specific GPS device.

This is the first step in installing the system into your vehicle. Most GPS units come packaged with mounting brackets, so this should not pose a major problem to you.

However, if you want a nicer mount, you may need to purchase one in addition to the GPS unit. Once you have the mount, you will need to go about installing it into your car. Many mounts fit on the dashboard or overhead in the vehicle, allowing you to have easy access to it at all times. Included with the mounts are instructions on how to install that specific mount into your car. If you take the time to read these carefully, it is very self-explanatory.

Once you have read the instructions, you will begin the process of having a Magellan navigation system installed in your car. Using the proper tools and taking your time, affix the mount to your dash board or car ceiling, so that it does not disrupt your view of the road or get in your way. Any adapter cables installed should be placed in a location where it will not shake the mount or get in your way.

Strategically placing the mounting brackets for your GPS unit is one of the most important aspects of making certain that your system will not be damaged while being used. Also, having a good location is essential to keeping your eyes on the road and keeping your family safe.
